Before the Five-O Usenet newsgroup...

Before the Five-O Usenet discussion group for the show mentioned in another posting, there was the Iolani Palace Irregulars, a fan club for the show which was run by Karen Rhodes, who later wrote a reference book about the show. I have many of the newsletters from this fan club which went under the name of "Patch Me Through To..."

I have placed them here:

The list is not complete, and there is no fancy interface here. Just click on the individual links to view that newsletter...

You forgot the .com in the URL above [This is fixed. - MQ].

But very interesting. I'm going through them now, and remember them.

I was delighted to find the Irregulars Patch Me Through articles. I've read them before look forward to reading them again. They never get old.
I contributed twice to either the Irregulars or a sequel. There was a feature that wanted instances of Hawaii 50 in the world. I mentioned the theme song playing in the background of "To the Manor Born" a Britcom from the early 80's. In the 2000's on a trip to Ireland a restaurant that featured baked stuffed potatoes had two potatoes with H 50 names. One was the Book 'em, Danno but can't remember the other one. They featured ham and pineapple.
