Filming locales (1968-1980) to visit in Oahu

Does anyone have/know of a list of the various places/locales (not the studio set) that the ORIGINAL Hawaii Five-O was filmed in Oahu? Obviously Iolani Palace is #1.

Does anyone know where the ending showdown in "Hookman" was filmed?

Was it by any chance 1131 Nu'uanu Ave (Pantheon Bar location)? I got this address from the link in the above post. The outside facade looks familiar and I know that in the past I had looked up that filming location using Street View but now I don't remember what the address was.

According to my review of Hookman:

Stoner gets killed when he is on top of the Y. Anin Ltd. Bldg. There is currently an address of 1149 Maunakea St in Honolulu for this location. A company called Minatoya Sukiyaki is also seen nearby, and it is located at 1152 Maunakea St.

Thanks, Mike! Come to think of it that's probably where I got that location from before - from your episode review. That definitely looks like the location. Except I believe Stoner got killed on the N. Pauahi St. side of the building (not the Maunakea side) because that's where that outdoor staircase is that leads to the roof.

Next time I'm on Oahu I definitely need to scope out this place! All to the tune of Morton's score of course.

Also looking for some locations and they weren't included in the article. Specifically:

-- wedding chapel the McGarrett visited in one episode; I can't remember which one but I think there was also a garden next to it.
-- any of the old estates used by the Japanese crime families
-- Chin Ho's house
-- the Hospital - Was this Queen's Medical Center?
-- the University

I'm heading out to Oahau next month and having some free time, I want to spend a day doing my own 50 tour. There are some companies doing tours but it's all the new show locations, no thank you!

Mahalo in advance!

Chin Ho's house; if you mean the episode where his house has a garage door right at streets edge? If so it is in Aina Haina at the top of Wailupe Valley

There were several hospitals used as filming locations including Queens, Leahi Hospital (in Kaimuki) was used a lot and Castle Medical on the windward side was used for the episode with the veteran who relapses into thinking he is in Vietnam.

Bishop Museum was often used for filming (most prominently for the Kings cape episode) and is also a nice visit.

The big houses used in the show include many on Kahala avenue including Sunhala of Vachon fame, the house next door was also used, the one with the cedar shingled huts. Many of the Kahala ave. homes though have been bulldozed so most are gone. The upper part of Oahu and Manoa avenues in Manoa valley have several homes you'd recognize on your left as you drive up. Nuuanu Pali and Old Pali road have a few mansions featured on the series as well (off the Pali highway)

The Kaiser estate in Portlock (the west side of the Hanauma bay peninsula) was used in the "Samurai" episode and is still there but now surrounded by hundreds of homes.

The show filmed often at three universities (UofH at Manoa, Chaminade and Kapiolani community college).

Most of the filming of the show was done around the west side of Honolulu (Waikiki, Kahala and Kaimuki) simply because the studio was by Diamondhead so they stayed close when possible.

@DouglasBoyd

I was in Honolulu/Waikiki back in November of 2014. Of my 4 days there, one day was devoted to visiting off the main beat original 5-O locations (I had visited many of the main sites during other visits like the Iolani Palace, Byodo In, Sea Life Park). From my 2014 trip, Mr. Mike graciously set up a spot on his webpage. Please check them out. You may like to visit them as well. I can give you more direct locations of any of the pictures if you would like.

You have some obscure ones there. Trouble in Mind stairs ...Secret Witness parking lot. That's good stuff.

I've left the family to go check out Five-O locations ...they thought I was crazy.
