John McMartin

John McMartin has passed away. McMartin played Ron Nicholson in F.O.B. Honolulu. He was the naval officer who had parntered up with Nicole Fleming (seductive Sabrina Scharf) to steal and sell the counterfeit $20 plates. Poor Ron was played by Fleming and eventually dispatched at the beach by Fleming. RIP.

And an outstanding performance it was. When he's at the beach in the RV the reality of what he's done hits him like a ton of bricks, and then Nicole totals him while she's lovin' him up. Nice.

Thanks for the information on John McMartin. CDR Nicholson was working both sides and was eliminated by Miss Fleming. FOB Honolulu definitely in my Top 20 episodes. I'm curious what would have happened to Nicholson had he survived his injuries. He would have lost amnesty plus he disgraced the uniform. McG had a friendship with Nicholson and the officer burned that bridge too. I guess he would have received life in prison since Hawaii doesn't have the death penalty. RIP John McMartin. Thanks for adding to the HFO catalog and a long life.

He would have been charged with treason which is a federal crime. The federal government including the military, has always had the death penalty.

RICK

You are right about the death penalty for Nicholson. That would fall under Federal jurisdiction. It really shocked me when CDR Nicholson joined the dark side with Fleming. An amazing episode FOB Honolulu. A well-paced 2 parter but WO FAT escaped again. He survived a point blank shot. Guess his Doctor fixed him up.

Classic HFO Fans

Say CDR Nicholson had hidden the plates and was still alive at end of FOB Honolulu. How would you have like to see FOB Honolulu end with CDR Nicholson & McGarrett?

John Chergi, if Ron Nicholson had lived to the end of the episode, McGarrett would have said, "Book 'em, Navy! Murder One, Grand Larceny, Treason, and any other charges the JAG wants to bring against this piece of scum."
