Hawaii Five-O License Plates
By BOBBI BAKER
Why track the license plates in “Hawaii Five-O” (we're talking Classic Five-O)? I love license plates and find them interesting. It is also fun to see how many repeats there really are without the obvious ones (i.e. F6-3958, which is McGarrett’s car used throughout the series). Part obsession, part curiosity for me.
In the following, episodes are together in their respective seasons. Timings of first appearance of license plate, readable or not, are based on Amazon Digital copies. Timings are based on the appearance of the license plate itself unless it is not seen, then the timing is based on the car and is stated in the notes. Incidental traffic and parked cars are not counted unless they have something to do with the story (i.e., HPD cars parked at a crime scene).
If (?) appears in the column with the Plate Number, this is a best guess. Some plates were blurred at best or filmed from a long distance. Guesses were based on semblance of characters. If it appears in the column with Make or Model, it is either a best guess or unknown.
Some Make and Models were verified through the Internet Movie Cars Database. Other information (i.e., who the players were, how to spell their names) verified through Mr. Mike’s episode reviews on The Hawaii Five-O Homepage.
If someone has additional information (i.e. plate number that is Unknown or a correction as to what Make/Model the car is), you can contact me by clicking here.
