I just got the 1st season of Hawaii Five-0 yesterday and I love it! I'm still watching the pilot movie, 'Cocoon' and it's so cool!! I did get kind of jealous of when Jack Lord (Steve McGarrett) was on the beach w/ Rosemary Quong

Henry: I'm thinking that the Big Chicken fight was purposely edited that way. There are many "arty" camera angles and shots in Five-O and this was the prime era for such experimentation. Plus, the episode runs 50+ minutes, which was the standard running time in those long ago, far away days of American Primetime television.

I watched "...And they Painted Daisies on his Coffin" again recently. The scene where McGarrett roughs-up Big Chicken begins very, very abruptly....after McGarrett has already given Big Chicken a bloody lip. It sure seems to me like a cut. I can't believe the scene actually began that abruptly when it was first aired. There is no lead-in to the physical confrontation. It just occurs, seemingly from nowhere; and, as I said, it "feels" to me to have been edited. Are they trying to cut down on violence in the DVD version? Or was it just a mistake? Or...did the creators actually intend for that scene to begin so disjointedly?? I understand that, sometimes, a new scene canbegin with a jolt; but this one just feels wrong to me.

I have seasons 1 & 2 and boy, do they bring back memories! My 3 sons have borrowed season 1.( I am still watching season 2)Now my grandchildren ask if they may borrow them, as they say they must have been one of the best series on TV, and I couldn't agree more. I would have loved to visit Hawaii to see where it was set.

Having just got back from the far-east I am now the proud owner [at last!] of Five O season 2. I am very pleased with the picture quality, and have so far watched 3 episodes. The Jack Lord voice-over intro's are a real treat for those of us who never saw them before. I would probably say March for the region 2 [Europe] season 3 release. That'll give me time to savour S2! As for a film remake of the series, I can only quote McGarrett himself, "No way, no way"! JL is one of the best ever leading men, I can't think of anyone today that would come near. Five O was Jack's [& Lenny's]. Leave it be and just release all 12 seasons please!

Seasons 1 and 2 brought back many memories and I just put in my order for Season 3. These DVD's are taking too long. Get it done so we can get more more more. Can't wait to see the movie if it ever is made. My vote is for Harrison to play McGarrett. He's a class guy like Mr. Lord was.

If anyone is interested . . . my grandfather (passed away in 1998) was an "extra" on Hawaii 5-0 and appeared in over 100 episodes. His life story, as well as the story about how he was approached to be a regular extra is very interesting. My grandmother, is currently alive and doing well in Hawaii at the age of 93, if someone is doing a documentary, special, movie or book on Hawaii 5-0, post back here with some kind of contact information.

I have always loved watching Hawaii Five-O when it was on TV and now I can own it! It's one of the best police dramas ever with the best music. I patiently waited for the seasons to come out on DVD and now they're here! Thank you!

We have seasons 1 & 2 and we love um. The two best TV theme songs Hawaii 5-0 and The Flintstones. Brings back a lot of memories, "Book'em Danno", forever.

I'd really like to buy these DVDs in Portugal (region 2), but they're not available.

Please can series 3 onwards be released in the UK (Region 2) at the same time as it is released in the US. Why do we have to wait another 3 months to receive it in the UK?
