Kurt Russel would make an excellent candidate to fill in for Steve. His character, witty and looks would be perfect. Looking forward for the movie release.

I loved the show which i watched on the original transmission dates. It certainly affected my adolescence for the better. As a adult though i now wonder which series "The Champion" (JL) first donned his wig, it never got a mention in the credits! I still watch re-runs but not as often as i would like because they are aired on satellite which i don't receive but occasionally get access to. To me "Hawaii Five-O" is reality, and reality is a cop show. Please get back to me with a reply i have wanted the answer for some time. Thanks. Mark Rossi 5-O fan

I'm directing my comments to Rita from Van Nuys,CA who seems to be in the Know, about whats going on in Hollywood and the film making bussiness these day's. First; Is there anything new developments in the new Five-O motion picture, such as when George Litto may begin filming in Hawaii? (I got a letter from Mrs. Freeman recently and she reported that there was "no news" as far as the movie was concerned... - MQ) Next; Will the possible upcomming writer's Guild strike have any effect on Mr.Litto's new Five-O Production or has the movie script already been completed, and all that needs to be completed is the casting? From reading the artical on this website, its my understanding that Mr.Litto got a large Credit line to Produce five or Six new movies in addition to his five-O movie? If so I would to suggest two other TV series that should become a theatre motion production, because I think he would do an outstanding job on both of them. One is Magnum P.I. starring Tom Sellect, and also filmed in Hawaii. The other which was one of my faverates from the 70's The Streets of San Francisco, starring "Karl Malden and Micheal Dougles"and was filmed right here in S.F.,Ca between 1972 thru 1977,and could cast "Micheal Dougles"as the main star in his previous role, but with a promotion to Lt. or Capt. Could have a female partner in the movie? Mr.Litto could do after he completes the Five-O movie,if he decided to make these into movies? Please pass this on to him.Thanks.

I still can't believe 5-0 hasn't been made into motion picture yet. So many past TV shows have made thier way to the big screen. (Considering how crappy some of these remakes have been, this might not be such a bad thing. ";-) - MQ) With a setting like Hawaii & the theme from 5-0 that alone would draw viewers. Now if Jerry Bruckheimer or Dreamworks SKG (or other heavy hitters) would only get behind this. In my opinion, if this were made into movie, it would probably contain elements of "Miami Vice & "Silk Stockings." Which means Wo Fat would be replaced by Jet Li who would live in a Kahala mansion surrounded by Penthouse Pets. I'm not saying this is right or wrong, but you would not see a villan like Wo Fat or Charlie Bombay. And there would probably be a car chase at the end (with exotic cars of course) on the H-3.

Has anyone else seen the new movie commercial for the Aussie movie "The Dish"? The announcer sonorously states, "And now we will have the national anthem of the United States..." and they start playing the Hawaii Five-O theme! I may go see the movie just to see if this is carried through in the movie itself. It's funny! Bye all. rita

I started watching reruns in 1992 & absolutely got hooked on 5-0 & the islands themselves. The first time I was in downtown Honolulu near the state capitol, I kept thinking of all the times McGarrett passed this area on his way to see the governor. Some of my favorite episodes include Cocoon, Hookman, Over 50, Steal. Great show w/the best theme EVER!

Is there anyone besides me who thinks the only actor to play McGarrett should be Christopher Walken? He could carry the surreal quality of the original shows to the big screen.

Jack Lord appeared in Dr. No as James Bond's (Sean Connery) CIA counterpart, Felix Leiter. How about current James Bond actor, Pierce Brosnan, playing McGarrett, in a Hawaii Five-O movie, if it ever gets off the ground? Does anyone know if there is a copy of the "new" 5-0 pilot by Cannell that was never broadcast? (Copies of this pilot allegedly exist and may be in the possession of some people in Hawaii who participated, but I don't have one! - MQ) Don't forget to check out these summer blockbusters filmed in Hawaii: Pearl Harbor, John Woo's Windtalkers, Jurassic Park III, and currently being filmed this month by Tim Burton on a secret location east of the Big Island of Hawaii, Planet of the Apes. Book 'em Danno! ALOHA!

I was wondering if anyone knew if Jim MacArthur's son (Charlie) was in the acting business? If he is he could possibly make a terrific "Dan Williams"!! What do ya think?
