I love the site. It's wonderful to find people that share my enthusiasm for this great show! As for the new movie coming out, I'd love to see Wo Fat involved somehow, those episodes were great. Also, keep it simple with lots of action. The first few seasons were like that and the show was great, the newer episodes kind of suck. I have a suggestion for your site, could you make it so the theme song plays when your site is loaded? That would be cool. (Personally, when visiting WWW sites and music starts playing -- which usually means sitting there while it loads -- I find the whole procedure very irritating. My motto around here is: "Keep it simple"! -- MQ) And last, but not least, I wanted to mention that my mother had a small part on the last episode, she played the prostitute being arrested in the first few minutes of the show. (In the last show -- Woe to Wo Fat -- the beginning of the show has a woman scientist in a taxi being kidnapped ... are you thinking of an another episode? - MQ) Oh, and I currently watch reruns on KDOC 56, L.A. Thanks.

July 28, 1999 I have to explain one of my comments of yesterday. When I had nominated Morgan Freeman to protray STEVE McGARRETT, I mentioned that he was Black and a great actor. That may have sounded like I was being prejudiced, but nothing could be further from the truth. I meant to say that since Jack Lord was not Black, that casting might seem sort of wrong. I still think Morgan would be terrific.

After watching Peacemaker. There was no doubt about who should take over McGarrett's role: Mr. George Clooney. A man's man. Deadpan. American, but with a certain Bond flair. It's like watching a young Sean Connery. Brosnan's English and too much "pretty boy". I can see Clooney pointing the .44 auto and barking orders. Like I said, go watch Mr. Devoe chase nuclear baddies in Peacemaker and deliver the deadpan lines. You'll know what I mean!

July 27, 1999 I just love "Hawaii Five-O." I watched it all through its twelve seasons and am enjoying the re-runs. Hawaii is such a beautiful state to visit and see on film or television. It is especially wonderful to visit. My picks for STEVE McGARRETT are Harrison Ford, Tommy Lee Jones, Morgan Freeman (yes, I know he is Black, but he is such a perfect actor), or James Garner. My picks for DANNY WILLIAMS are Mel Gibson, Kurt Russell, Richard Dean Anderson, Will Smith, and Matthew McConaughey. My picks for The GOVERNOR are James MacArthur, Morgan Freeman, James Garner, and John Hillerman. ALOHA!

I really think that any attempt at a remake of Hawaii 5-0 needs to have a Steve McGarrett as the main character, I don't feel that something like his son or Danno taking over would do the series justice. I have read all of the ideas of who should play the part of McGarrett in the movie and feel that there are many outstanding actors to choose from. However, most of the names that have been mentioned are established actors that command high salaries. Maybe the people who are casting the movie might want to try someone that is not as well known as a Harrison Ford or Tommy Lee Jones, like that guy that plays Kyle on Melrose Place. I am not sure what his real name is but after seeing him on a couple of television shows I feel that he could pull off the part of Steve McGarrett. He has the right look and some of his body language reminds me of that of Jack Lord. Just an idea so don't shoot yet.

Quentin Tarantino is the only person who might have the profound appreciation for the sublime, kick-ass nature of Five-0. David Arquette is Dano. Vince Vaugn is the only man who could be the new McGarret. End of story.

After my mother's dad died when she was 10, she was flipping through the T.V. channels and saw a part of Hawaii Five-0. She immediately became attached to Steve McGarrett, seeing him as a fatherly figure. She even subscribed to the Jack Lord Newsletter. As for the new Hawaii Five-0 movie, I don't like it that Steve McGarrett would be portrayed by someone else. My mom didn't like this either. I want to remember Steve McGarrett as he was as Jack Lord. It wouldn't be the same, as my mom said, the magic wouldn't be there. I'm 16 years old and wasn't able to see the show until now. I agree with my mom. Jack Lord was a great actor, and the show just isn't as good without him.

Just surfed in and find this site very interesting and comprehensive. Will definitely come back for a longer look round. Regarding the movie count my vote as being against. I am sure there are a lot of capable actors who could do a good job of the role of Steve McGarrett, but there is only one who IS Steve McGarrett and that is the late Jack Lord. I don't want to see anyone else put a different interpretation on the role for which Lord gave the most definitive interpretation.

I used to work with a Steve McGarrett double named Ed McQuillan - he'd be perfect for the role! (By the way, "it's Steven Aloysius, but don't tell anyone" ... I forget which episode McGarrett tells a lady friend that)

The Five-O movie cast? My picks: McGarrett - Tommy Lee Jones Danno - Sean Penn (an updated Danno with a little edge) Chin Ho Kelly's Daughter - Kelly Hu. Chin Ho was killed off and his daughter wanted revenge; now she's part of Five-O Kono - Jason Scott Lee. A new, athletic Kono for the '90s "The governor" - Richard Crenna

I think the part of Steve should be played by Jonathan Frakes of Star Trek NG fame. Also maybe you will entertain the idea of having Rick Schroder play the part of Danno. Both are strong actors with the same attributes of the original cast members, without trying for exact copies.

Does anyone else think Kevin Spacey would make a good McGarret? I also think setting the movie in the Late sixties to mid -seventies would keep some of the original ambience, but how the hell you could do that I don't know.

Harrison Ford as McGarret, Matt Damon as Danno, Jackie Chan as Chin Ho. John Malcovich as the villian.
