I am NOT at all in favor of a Hawaii Five-O movie. It would never be the caliber of the original series. Why can't decent things be left alone. I believe the part of Steve McGarrett was created for Jack Lord, and nobody else can ever play that part!

Can anyone help me find the record containing all of the songs that were played during the TV show of Hawaii Five-O. Please send answer to me at email@example.com Thank you very much (What do you mean by "all of the songs"? The only Five-O soundtrack was released on Capitol Records and it has never been issued on CD. You should check one of the auction sites like Ebay or stores which specialize in collectible records to find a copy. It is entirely instrumental and several of the selections were used in the pilot episode (and some subsequent episodes). Most of the background score from the show (like the "violin," "memories," and "trombone interval" themes, for example) has never been released in any form. - MQ)

As growing up watching Mr.Jack Lord on 50 for many years it is a feeling of loss to hear of his passing,he was as much of the show as the show was a part of him,my late wishes to the family, cast, crew, and the many millions of fans the show has in seeing the reruns and the memories it brings back,so to you jack,BOOKEM,DANNO.You will be forever missed,Your Fan,Jim.

This is absolutlely great. I am so glad there are sites like this to carry on the greatness that is Hawaii Five-0. The show has the greatest theme song and opening to any show ever on television. Sadly, I have only seen one episode from the 79 season and very few past the 76-77 season. I don't know if Paramount-Viacom has finished retouching the tapes or not, but very few of the latter episodes make it on syndication here in Dallas or on WGN. I agree, the movie should be very careful with casting and not make it a caracature of itself. And one question: I know the theme was rerecorded a few times and there were small changes, like drum beats, etc. Which season had the best sounding theme? I like the theme used on the 71-72 season. Thanks again for the great site. I just found it this week. And Jack Lord's death was quite shocking. I remember him appearing on CBS during Christmas shows and before parades. When did he make his last appearance?

Al Harrington was my teacher at Punahou the year before he left to to work on HAWAI'I 5-O. It felt like he was lecturing me whenever I saw him on the tv screen, so, I always made sure to do my high school homework first before tuning in. Many of my friends had parts, including a guy named Simpson who later marrie Sigourney Weaver. Are you looking for writers? I have my first novel in NYC being considered for publication. I also write SPs. I know your SP is complete, but maybe I could add some of the creole dialect found on Oahu. If so, you can reach me at firstname.lastname@example.org. I'm a friend of Bernie W.

Just like everybody else I would like to thank you and congratulate you on your website. Thanks to the episode reviews, I am in the process of taping all the four star rated episodes that you have listed. I am well into my seventh volume (8 hour tapes) and in the end i should have about 80 episodes on tape. I also look forward to the movie about Five - O, but in a way i wish they wouldn't do it. It seems like alot of the movies they do about the old TV shows are a disappointment (WILD WILD WEST,MCHALES NAVY, MISSION IMPOSSIBLE) Oh well here's hoping for the best. ALOHA BABY!!

What a treat to see a web page on the best TV detective show of all time. It amazes me that the quality of the filming of a TV series 30 years later is so good. What a shame a movie version could not have been made to include Jack Lord. Time ran out for him. I sincerely hope that all those living, healthy and able actors from the original show could be included in the film. Please include as much Hawaiian scenery and actual locales as possible. The theme must stay the same (The Ventures' version would be the one to use. A black Mercury is a must and no love-life for McGarret please! Harrison Ford would be ideal in the Jack Lord role and Nicholas Cage as "Danno". Thanks again for your nostalgic and informative web site.

I still feel that Mr. Litto & Rose Freeman, when filming the new Five-O movie, show start out clean with a new cast for a Five-O Team, set in the presant with Harrison Ford as first choice to head Five-O. I beleive that is the only way it can be a succesful film. Like others have commented in the past. Nobody but the late "Jack Lord"could ever play Steve MaGarrett and make it believable and make work. It must be a new generation of characters, with "Harrison Ford" at the helm,or another good acter like "Tommy Lee Jones"for the motion picture to be a success. Of course the rest of the original cast should be considered for other parts. James MacArther as the Govenor,Kam Fong as possibly the Mayor of Honolulu? Zulu as the state Attorney General? Maybe "Al Harrington" as a local, state or Federal Judge? I also feel the new Five-O Team should include a women. Perhaps Holly Hunter or Sigorney Weaver? she is the actress who played Ripley in the Alien movies. I wonder which acter today, that Jack Lord would choose for the lead man,if he were still alive and could have influence?
