Hello everyone! Only it wanted to express the great admiration that consider Jack Lord and Hawaii five-0 since tapeworm 12 years. In spite of to have passed a lot time, never to stopped recalling it, this series marked of very pleasant form my life and still today after 36 years I continue bewitched by the series and of course by Jack Lord. As soon as I received the information of Amazon on the sale of the two seasons of Hawaii five-0 did not I doubt it and I bought them quickly. Now as the remainder of the fans I am expecting anxious to that the third series go on sale. I am a Spaniard and alive in Valencia (Spain), here the series impacted also a lot and still we remain some admirers (that I know). Seeing again Hawaii five or has done me to rejuvenate. A very loving greeting to all from Spain. Amparo.

Alma, I read your comment about purchasing the entire series of Hawaii Five-O. I live across the bay from you. You donít want to purchase from any third party vendor like DVD5th Ave,Com saying they have the entire series for sale all 12 seasons. DO NOT PURCHASE THESE DVDís because they are from TV dubs and not what CBS/P has released. There are only tow seasons so far. We all need to wait for Season 3 to come out some time in November or December since CBS take four months to produce the DVDís. If your looking for Season 1 Amozon.com has that DVDís available. I sure would love to get the DVD Bored She Hung Herself from Region 2, but how would anyone convert since the UK uses a different format. As they say it in Five-O, Book Em Dano murder one two counts! Aloha!

Bill in UK....please keep us informed on the region 2 series; this may be the only solution to this quagmire that CBS/P has created. I still believe there will be a resolution to this. Not really boycotting but still haven't bought S2 as of today and will hold off for awhile. As for all of you that have already bought S2, then....aloha suckers (as McG said), you all have IMCOMPLETE S2 sets....

I saw the captures from Bored that I donated awhile back. Overall, I didn't find that episode disturbing in the least. It's no more violent than the movies and TV shows you see nowdays. I was able to clean it up a bit thru digital restoration. When is Season 3 coming out, did someone mention NOV/DEC? As far as Boycotting, as McGarrett would say "Easy, Easy" meaning to cool off...

Here's my take on the lack of cuts in the episodes: Season 1: 1270 minutes, Season 2: 1206 minutes Season 2--1185 minutes/24 eps; 19 min. for previews. That adds up to 1206 minutes. Season 1--1185 minutes/23 eps plus first half of Cocoon; 45 minutes for second half of Cocoon; 40 minutes for the documentary. That adds up to 1270 minutes. I'd say that means the only thing edited is the opening credits--there's no missing content except for the missing episode.

I hope they keep the disc coming out as they are. And I hope the people will get it right soon, and give us Five0 people all the season. Not Cut Things Out Like They Have. Like season Two. You have not get all off it. If they put all the 12 years out at one time, the cost would be out of sight. I just hope they keep them coming maybe one season every 4 months are something like that...

I don't think boycotting CBS is a good idea - however, it would be nice to be able to write to them to voice our concerns, such as why they did not include the "Bored" episode and to get them to explain what the "edited" disclaimer on the box means. Hey Mike, do you have any contact info? Thanks...

Boycotting CBS on future Episodes of Hawaii Five-O doesnít make sense and we sure donít want to get CBS mad now do we? What I would suggest is that if anyone out there knows any of the Executives at CBS that they contact them as to why the episode Bored, She Hung Herself was cut. There is another Episode that I remember was pretty disturbing at the time I watched it called ďDeath with FatherĒ where it shows both Father and Son being blown up at the end of the scene where you see this mushroom flame go up in the air. I believe that is in either Season 3 or Season 4. In any case, I just hope that CBS wonít cut that one from its list either. I know that particular episode went into syndication. I have watched most of the DVD for Season 2 and does it bring back memories. Can you believe this show is almost 40 years old? I have a question for all of you? How many people out there would purchase the entire 12 seasons at one time? Lets take a poll then send that to CBS as well. Iím willing to purchase all twelve season.

Five O and The Persuaders! are my fave tv shows of all time. Still enjoying season 1. No chance of me boycotting S2 when it comes out here in October. I've been waiting too long for Five O to come out on DVD for that! I'll be fascinated to see/hear the Jack Lord intro's which I didn't even know existed. Any other extra's I wonder? Such as a stills photo gallery which is common on most U.K. cult tv box-sets [such as the ITC stuff]. I love the menu's for season 1, I'm sure S2 will be good too. Would be terrific to have an 'extra' about the great Morton Stevens. I always thought the season 1 version of the main theme was by far the best. Mort Stevens incidental music was simply superb. Quite hard to get much info about the man even on the internet. http://www.freewebs.com/thepersuadersreviews

I seem to have been incorrect as far as James MacArthur's introduction on the S2 discs-- 17 episodes in and part of the 18th, and I have seen no change in James MacArthur's introduction; it is still "With James MacArthur as Danny." I seem to have assumed too much again, just as I did that the "editing" would mean huge cuts in the episodes.

I agree with those who caution against a boycott. I also agree that, IF the DVD episodes were being edited, it would not be in my interest to shell out the money. I haven't started viewing the S2 episodes yet, but am relieved to hear that there is no butchering going on. Bring on Season 3!

It's highly unlikely that a total boycott of S2 could bring CBS/P not to release future seasons, what with the overwhelming popularity of S1. If you browse through Amazon or even a retailer like Best Buy you would quickly see that the studios are releasing rights to every stupid, silly show that has ever been televised (remember "Get Smart?" you can get it!). So they're not going to terminate future H50 seasons when there's a ton of money to be made yet. I'm beginning to lean with the rest of the crowd in that a S2 boycott over one episode isn't worth it. It's just a shame that CBS/P didn't fulfill their end of the deal by providing us hardcore H50 fans with the complete S2. BORED, I BLAME CBS/P....

Many refused to buy The Amazing Race 7 until they released 2-6, and all they got was no more Amazing Race dvds ever. Boycotting s2 of H50 over a missing episode won't help matters. I'd support such an effort fully if the remaining episodes were syndication cuts--I wouldn't buy such a set. But these are the full episodes with no cuts, the same music, and all they've done is change William's title card. We'll get no season 3 if people don't buy season 2.

I was 12 years old when H50 hit the air in 1968 and I fell in love with it from the very first episode (or should I say, the pilot episode, when McG first encounters his arch nemesis, WoFat), and I've been watching it ever since, until it slowly fizzled out of broadcast syndication in my area. From some of the other fan posts that I've read below, there's some widespread discontent over the omission of BSHH, and I agree with those posts. We (the true fans) are forking over our hard earned money and should receive truly complete sets. I can't imagine that CBS/Paramount intentionally did this, what with the current content of most shows. I'm currently watching purchased DVDs of the Sopranos, and there is NO question that H50 doesn't hold a candle to this show when it comes to gratuitous sex, violence and language....but they didn't "edit" the Sopranos! I've read some interesting theories (other than censorship) as to why this happened, but the bottom line is that CBS/P should have made whatever effort necessary to get BSHH included, short of it being lost or accidently destroyed. My fellow H50 fans, all I can say is that money (and money ONLY) talks in the business world, so we should collectively refrain from purchasing S2 until we hear that we can get this episode from CBS/P, or until we get a better explanation from them. I will suffer and refrain from buying S2 until S3 comes out later. If we don't voice our protests (monetarily speaking), what will prevent CBS/P from doing the same thing in future seasons?!? In the mean time, could someone get Danno (James McA) to "Book CBS/P" for this egregious omission!!! (I think James McA is still kicking!) Aloha to all.....

Us 5-0's just gotta stick together, whow I love this show and god bless the artists' who put is all together in the first place, as I'am sure that is how they all would to be liked to be remembered and loved (as Mrs Lord wished Jack would be remembered). I grew up in Saskatchewan Canada and BOY Hawaii looked awefull good at 40 below! I look foward to the next DVD set and agian thank-you to the artists that are still here and a even bigger thank-you to the ones who aren't! RJ

I'd like to know something about the S1 DVD-- why, although it is so obviously complete (what with all the episodes, no music replacement, and the Emme Tomimbang reunion special, for starters), was it only called "The First Season" on the packaging, yet it is called "The Complete First Season" on Amazon and in a few other places?

"Book 'em, Dano" is first spoken on "Twenty-Four Karat Kill" of the 1st season. But it's easy to overlook. I've received my 2nd season, but haven't even finished watching the entire 1st season yet! I'm milking them, slowly. Usually I watch one episode twice over a 2-week period.....then go on to the next. I just love this show so much, I don't want to run out of "new" episodes. Guess this may sound a bit odd, but I just can't help it.

I have enjoyed the second season so far. I have viewed three episodes and they look very much like the original production. Color is good, music sounds fie and know I remember how they added more background music to this second season and that wonderful sounding bell in the background of some of those episodes. Let's keep those DVD'S coming. Be there Aloha!!

So I've watched season 1 and half of season 2, and I've only heard "Book 'em" a few times, and I'm not sure that I've heard "Book 'em, Danno" at all. Just when does this catch phrase of "Book 'em, Danno" start? I'm enjoying the shows tremendously--and I think that the episodes are getting stronger (though I think the reviews here have more 3 and 4 stars for season 1). Still...I'm just a teensy bit disappointed not to hear "Book 'em, Danno" as often as I expected. Perhaps it didn't really start until the 3rd or 4th season--does anyone have any info on this? The Season 1 dvd set of Simon & Simon has the season 2 opening credits on the 4th episode--and it airs that way on Sleuth, too. Were the season 2 H50 and an ep of S&S credits destroyed somehow? Does this happen often? I'm hoping that it's not a pc thing--an editor thinking it's wrong for the white character only to have his last name up there. Here's a fun article: http://www.nytimes.com/2007/08/03/opinion/03fri3.html?em&ex=1186372800&en=889c78e570c6353f&ei=5087%0A

Hi Will, Season two the theme is slightly different then in Season one of Hawaii Five-O, you can hear more of the bongos, the sound is really clean considering that the show is almost forty (40) years old. When CBS does release Season three, youíll hear the theme change even more. Keep in mind that Season one of Hawaii Five-O was orchestrated and played by Morton Stevens band. I still have the original VHS Hawaii Five-O that Columbia Video produced five or ten years ago in excellent mint condition. Why CBS wonít release the whole entire series at one time on DVD I will never know. Everyone wants to purchase all the seasons. So CBS, whatís stopping you from releasing the entire series? My daughter bought me season one for Fatherís Day got me hooked on this all over again. I told her Iíve been watching the show since 1968 when it first aired on CBS. Iím a true Five-O fan! I even have the Hawaii Five-O theme by the Ventures as my ring tone and the large Hawaii Five-O as my wallpaper. I work for a university in Santa Clara, CA and a student heard my phone go off one day outside. She said that is a cool tune what is it? I told her its Hawaii Five-O. She said what is Hawaii Five-O and I explained to her that it was a great TV Show that ran for twelve years. Anyway, she liked it so much; she ended up downloading it from iTunes. I just hope that the Hawaii Five-O Movie will come out soon. Theyíve been talking about it for five years now and still nothing. Does anyone know when the movie will be out and who is going to play the main roll?

I have received my second season set from Amazon but have not opened the shrink-wrap yet. When Mike Q. says that the second season episodes have the first season main titles ("Danny" vs. "Dan Williams"), can anyone tell me if this refers to visual only, or audio as well? In other words, do we actually hear the season 2 recording of the theme, which is slightly different from season 1? If it is the season 1 audio, then I am returning my set to Amazon. As for BSHH, the more I think about it, the more I doubt there is a "villain" here. I think that "they" (CBS, Paramount, Viacom) intended to release the "complete" season and only discovered later that BSHH was never syndicated and therefore might not have been found in the same source they used to get the other masters. Alternatively, since BSHH was never syndicated, it may not have been included in various rights deals for syndication and/or the 1997 Family Channel digital restoration project. If the "flow of rights" for this episode was somehow unclear, that could easily have prevented its inclusion even if they had the master. Anyway, would appreciate it if someone could provide info on the season 2 theme. Thanks!

I just recently purchased Season Two of Hawaii Five O and can not wait to watch it. I wished that the banned episode of bshh is not in it.l After reading the brief plot about that episode, it sounded like something that one could find on today's tv shows. It is too bad that it bshh was not included in this dvd. I was not able to see this show when it was on tv due to being a very young child and wished that it was included in this dvd. I did not know that this show existed until a year ago when my boyfriend an I were channel surfing and found this show. We have been hooked ever since, but then our local tv station yanked Hawaii Five O off the air. So i get to enjoy this site as well as the dvds of this show. This is a great site and I look forward to reading other epeople's comments about this show.

Rec'd the season two set, and most episodes have a running time (excluding the 1:02 trailers) of about 51:03 each, give or take a few seconds here and there. Overrall, I'm pleased with it, even if BSHH is not here. Other than the opening credits, I can't discern any serious omissions in the episodes.

I have noth the 1st and 2nd season eps now and plan to buy the entire 12 seasons as they become available. I had forgotten how gorgeous the show was (and yes some of the anachronisms are funny as hell), and how 40 yrs later the stories are still VERY topical: American soldiers are fighting in a foreign country, drug lords, gang wars, assassins, terrorists - yup, nuthin' has changed, brudder!

~ ~ I'm still miffed about the omission of "Bored, She Hung Herself". I checked the CBS website for a "contact us" link, with hopes of expressing my displeasure with them for doing this, but couldn't find one, SO, I've got to vent here! I just hope that they would have a representative to read comments on outside sites such as this one, which by the way is EXCELLENT. Let's hope so. I really can't understand why "Bored" was omitted, even if the reason is because of a suicide subject matter. Suicide is murder in itself. It is an act of an individual killing themself. It is NO different than someone taking another person's life, other than they have elected to take their own, and NOT another's(life). We see murder plots all over cop shows, along with prostitution, drug abuse-overdose & trafficking, alcohol abuse & drunk driving, extortion, rape, incest, robbery, kidnapping, arson, perjuries, racial injustice; you name it, it'll be there. So, my question to the censors and those that chose to edit out this particular episode is; WHY do you edit this out, and leave everthing else in. I do assure you that I am a big boy, and I can handle it. It is MY money that I am willing to transfer into YOUR bank account, HOPING for 100% of one of my FAVORITE things in life. Which in this case, is a FULL collection of my ALL-TIME favorite TV show! If I want 93 octane fuel in my tank, then I am willing to pay the price for the higher grade, and I FULLY expect to get what I have paid for! So, why can't true fans of a show like 'Hawaii Five-O' have what they want IN IT'S ENTIRITY! It is NOT being aired or broadcast over cable or satellite. It is for PRIVATE HOME USE! Please CBS/Paramount, NO MORE OMISSIONS, and give us "BSHH" on a future compilation as restitution, or if you prefer, a bonus. Come on, be there, ALOHA!~ ~

Picked up the much anticipated Season 2 set on Tuesday night and finally got around to watching the first episode last night. Happy they are releasing these seasons rather quickly but a bit bummed they left of BSHH ... Not sure if I will ever get a chance to see this one now... Funny they would censor an episode like that given the garbage that is on allowed on TV everyday (in the States anyway) anymore. Sad Paramount caved like that. I was happy to see the trailers for upcoming episodes, that's a cool little bonus though !

I know this can probably be considered heresy (and small consolation for all of us about to take it on the chin). If Paramount/Viacom does not include BSHH as a bonus episode on the Season 3 release (I hope I am not being overly presumptuous assuming we're even getting season 3), than, I suggest they release it as single DVD with a warning and an R+ rating. That way everyone gets what they ultimately want : The hardcore fans get the lost episode, keeping the entire series intact and Paramount increases it's revenue stream at our expense>hmmmÖ.maybe that's been the plan all along? Paramount to all of us> AlohaÖ...Aloha Suckers!

Although disappointed about 'Bored' being left out, I'm now more concerned about these 'edits' to other episodes. It won't stop me from buying season 2 of course! I am sooooooo angry that Paramount has not included "Bored, She Hung Herself" on the 2nd season DVD box set. I want to see every episode of the show ever made. Now this is an episode I will NEVER get to see. Why is it not included in the box set? Because it deals with suicide? Other Hawaii Five-O episodes deal with suicide as do 100's of TV shows and movies over the years. Why don't we ban "Romeo & Juliet" while we are at it. it might give teenagers ideas. And it contains 2 suicides, not just one. It's doubly dangerous!

Yes, I echo the sentinments re: Season Two. Being a fan that is catching up with the series after my Dad got me into it, I was hoping to be able to collect and see EVERY episode. I'm still glad to have the set, but I'd be willing to buy it if they re-released the set in it's entirety, though Paramount should be ashamed of themselves. I'm sure this ep is nothing overly offensive compared to what is on today. And in agreement, this is a product invidivual consumers are purchasing -- it's each person's right NOT to watch it. Either way, everyone make sure to keep buying so Paramount will keep releasing more seasons!
