Aloha! I'm 18 years old and huge Five-O fan. My dad got me hooked on it a few years ago. My fave character has always been Ben Kokua (the first episodes I saw were from season 6). For anyone living close enough to Austin, TX to get channel 54 - KNVA, they broadcast the show at 10:00 in the morning on weekdays. Mahalo, Mike, for the great webpage and episode guide.

Does ANYONE have anything new on the movie? What about you Mike? Everything I'm hearing is just talk. Oh well. By the time it actually is made, we'll have worked ourselves up to a fever pitch! Later. Aloha

My choice for actor to play McGarrett would be Willem Dafoe. He is similar in appearance and mannerisms to Jack Lord, and has that tan thing going on. (I agree -- he is similar to Lord -- he could be McGarrett's long-lost son! - MQ)

I still think Harrison Ford should play the head of Five-O whether it be "Steve McGarrett" or a new character. If he is not available, then I nominate Tommy Lee Jones as the second choice, because he could also pull it off. If anyone has any doubts? Take a look at his performance as U.S. Marshal in both movies "Fugitive" and "U.S.Marshals" After viewing those two films, anyone will be convinsed that "Tommy Lee Jones" could be tough enough to be "McGarrett"or any character to be the head of "Five-O" Is there anyone in the know out there, who knows if there are any new developements in the "Hawaii Five-O movie, such as a possible cast sellection and possible date, when the movie could begin Production,if all goes well?

I would really love to see "Larry Hagman" play McGarrett!

ahh..hawaii 5-0 the theme song made the trumpet seem like a cool instrument. I bet a lot of people took up the trumpet just because of it. It was a sure setup for disapointment. Put a pompadore on Christopher Walken and call him Steve Mcgarrett, both actors have a similar screen presence.

A Friend of mine visited (I think) Hawaii a while ago and saw Jack Lord Going down to the beach for a swim. He walked down to the water with head to toe cover and sunglasses jumped in for a short swim and got out again into his disguise and went back to wherever. I enjoyed the show years ago, but like so many of these stars of older days, I feel sorry for them that they are locked in a time warp. Every one gets older, but they are are only remembered as young. I don't think they can handle it. It is sad. paulf@attachesoftware.com

Who is going to play Steve McGarrett? That bit of casting could make or break this film, if it ever even gets as far as all that. My sympathies go out to the poor actor who has to follow in the path of Jack Lord. It's a kamikaze mission.

First I would like to say that your wwebsite is excellent. I am a big fan of the show for many years now and I access the site frequently. As far as the movbie is concerned, I heard rumors that Harrison Ford might play McGarrett. I think he would do a great job. Perhaps some of the older guys could have cameo appearances. Regardless, there is no excuse for not making this movie. And, by the way, i hope they don't "redo" the opening theme in some lame new style. Keep up the good work. Aloha, baby.

I'd love to see a 5-0 movie IF and ONLY IF it could recapture the ambiance, the spirit and script-writing style of the original movie. And of course it would have to be a period piece of the 60s. It would also be a great way to bring back the music of Denny, Lyman, et al! I can't see how all that could be donen faithfully. Jack Lord and the original gang are imprinted on all our minds as THE 5-0 crew. That should make a terrifying prospect to any actor with respect for the original show given any of the major roles. And one more thing: Use the opening and closing credits for THE definitive treatment of the inimitable Hawaii 5-0 theme! Let's hope for a miracle! Aloha nui nui!

I love Hawaii 50 so much especially Jack Lord and Steve McGarrett. I still watch it everyday and I get very upset when stations discontinue it for whatever reason. I used to catch it twice a day in Orlando. It came on WOR in New York at 2:00 p.m. and WGN in Chicago at 12:00 p.m. at one time and I was in heaven! My only concern is that to me no one can play McGarrett like Jack Lord. I cannot imagine what Mr. Freeman was thinking when he once threatened to replace him with Lloyd Bridges. I do not think the show would have lasted for 12 seasons--Steve McGarrett could be no one but Jack Lord. Will this movie have the same quality and style the original had? Yes, if they can reincarnate Jack Lord, and make the other excellent supporting actors (Zulu, James McArthur, Herman, and Kam Fong, young again. If you cannot capture the magic and beauty of the island and the characters again, then leave it alone. I'll stick with the wonderful memories I have of a time gone by...

Hi Five-O fans. Two things I want to say- first: Bravo Rose Freeman!!!! Either do the movie right or don't do it at ALL!!!!!!! Second: I was home on my lunch hour last week and I taped the 'Woe to Wo Fat' episode, the last one ever made. And like the guy from Greensboro, I agree with some parts of it, and politely disagree with others. On one hand, it was an example of the terrible writing during the last 2-3 years of H5-O, and there were no other supporting actors. Danno would have been a nice ally to have during McGarrett's imprisonment, but we all know he left before then. On the other, I liked the fight scene at the end. If you ever tape it, and slow it down, you can see the "fake" punches thrown, and the sound effects cover it up, but it's still a pretty good, and the ultimate goal was achieved-- McGarrett booking Wo Fat. I don't like the last scene either, when Wo pulls that little nail file out of his shoe after McGarrett locks him up. But I guess they had to put a little humor in the end. Oh well.... Does anyone know of any Five-O fan clubs either in the Carolinas or Georgia? If so, please respond to this message. Aloha!

I have been a fan of Hawaii 5-0 since it started and watch episodes I have taped over and over. We don't get any re-runs in Australia which is disappointing. As far as the movie is concerned I think James McArthur would be good as the Governor but no one can replace Jack Lord as Steve McGarrett. He made this character his own. Maybe someone else could be in charge of 5-0? It would be nice to see some of the old faces in Guest appearances in the movie as well.

I watched this show all the time when it first aired, and now that I work out of the home I can see it twice daily on a local Philly station. Some of the episodes seem so dated, but I will always love this show, the actors and the beautiful Hawaii scenery. Nice to know others are "still into" this classic.
